With the loss of estrogen support there’s a relative imbalance with testosterone, so you’ll notice that the skin is lacking hydration. To target dryness and retain moisture, look for formulas that include hyaluronic acid, ceramides, glycerin or shea butter. Don’t forget to drink enough water. Consume at least 2 litres of water each day to keep your skin nice and hydrated.
2. Wear sunscreen every day
It might be annoying to read about the importance of sunscreen everywhere but it’s the number one beauty rule. Wear sunscreen every day! Nothing damages your skin more than exposure to the sun. It’s the number one cause of brown spots, wrinkles, and skin cancer. Remember that not all sunscreens are equal. You should choose one with at least 30 SPF and look for those which block UVA and UVB rays as well.
3. Avoid hot water
While a steaming hot shower or face washing session can feel quite relaxing in the moment, it’s not exactly the best option for your skin. Piping hot water can cause a heightened level of skin sensitivity after cleansing. What’s worse, extra hot water can also dry out your skin, stripping it of necessary natural oils. For the best result, use lukewarm or cold water instead.
